Buffalo Kloof is one of a kind. The game and trophy quality are unmatched to anywhere else I’ve been in Southern Africa. The camps are simply unbelievable from a traditional Cape safari lodge to a beautiful bush camp that marries the very best parts of rustic living with modern amenities. The camp staff are well prepared, friendly and inviting. You truly come as guests and leave as friends. My family and I will be making many more trips back to Buffalo Kloof. It truly is a special place!

On a recent visit to the Eastern Cape we were fortunate enough to spend three days at Spekboom Camp. Nothing could have prepared us for this unique experience. From the minute we drove through the gates we started to experience the peace and quietness of the place. The Lodge itself is beautifully appointed with magnificent views over the valley. Each separate bedroom unit has its own character and one feels totally alone with nature. Warne and Wendy are incredible hosts and sitting round the enormous fire pit enjoying a pre dinner drink and relating stories of the days sightings with the two of them was a highlight of our stay. The game drives where we saw more game than we had ever hoped to see were wonderful and added to this were the things we learnt about the history of the area. The photographs we took over the three days are a constant reminder of our special time there.. Thank you for working so hard to safeguard the lives of the animals and the well-being of your incredible staff. Without people like you places like this would never exist.

Any time spent at Buffalo Kloof is a gift to yourself. The grounds, wildlife, flora and atmosphere are deeply saturated with a prehistoric sense of belonging. Something that transports you to a time before man, and the confusions of the modern world. However one afternoon with the incredible team of rangers and you can see how much care and diligence goes into the preservation and protection of these incredible species, and environment in the 21st Century.

A haven for what seem like innumerable species of iconic wildlife, I spent mornings soaking in the African sun, trekking and rolling over rugged terrain, listening to elephants trumpet and rhino crunch leaves. And then I would spent my evenings drifting in the pool at Spekboom with a warm plate of traditional South African food, and a cold drink in hand.

However my favorite part may be sleeping in the incredibly comfortable beds, and taking the risk to leave the doors of the luxury rooms wide open, falling asleep listening to the distant sounds of the African wilderness.

Buffalo Kloof and it’s lodge Spekboom are two of the most magical places on earth.

My big birthday celebration couldn’t have been any better. From start to finish Warne, Wendy, Hannah and their rangers and staff ensured that we celebrated in style and they went the extra mile to make it a very special weekend.
Buffalo Kloof is the epitome of peace and tranquility, mixed with superb hospitality, unique game viewing and phenomenal photographic opportunities!
I am in awe of your incredible conservation ethos - it was so special to be part of this!

To all wildlife lovers out there. We have been extremely privileged to visit Buffalo Kloof three times this year. What an unbelievable experience, friendly motivated staff, exceptional game drives and hospitality and some of the best photographic opportunities you will get anywhere in Africa. The diversity and quality of game and vegetation is exceptional and the cherry on top is being able to see the magnificent Black Rhino in its natural habitat. Takes some work but thats what makes it so special when you finally get that special siting. Sadly not many places left in our world where you can experience this. Thanks to the whole team at Buffalo Kloof for their dedication and commitment to conservation which is clearly driver by WARNE and WENDY’S passion for their Reserve. Keep up the good work 👊💪👌

We had an unbelievable 5 night family stay. The hospitality, game viewing, accommodation and staff all added to an extremely happy stay. Having Bevin and Pam Hare do our evening meals added to the relaxed vibe of the holiday and their food comes highly recommended and is outstanding. We will be back! Thank you to all!
